How was your life before you came to the camp?
When I was 13 years old I started hanging out with the wrong people and the wrong crowd doing drugs, drinking, and not living the way I should be and the way the Lord would have me live. It went on for about a year and it was breaking my parents’ heart to see me doing and going through the things that were happening. When I was 14 years old, a few days after my 15th birthday, my parents made the decision to send me to Camp Tracey and I do believe that it was the best choice that they made. Since then my life has changed for the better.
2) How did you get to camp tracey? My parents decided to take me there to hopefully see my life change.
3) How Camp Tracey changed your life?
Camp Tracey has changed my life in so many ways to being more respectful, and most important it has matured me greatly. It’s where I was SAVED and that alone has changed my life tremendously and it’s because of Camp Tracey that I came to know the Lord. I am now married to a wonderful and respectful man who knows and loves the Lord just as I do, and why our marriage is blessed because we both very much love the Lord and keep Him first in each and every decision we make and every thing we do.

4) What things did you learn at CT that have been invaluable in your adult life?
It taught me lots of house work which is very important in women’s world especially when you get married, and I love every bit of it--how to cook, it has also taught me to be more responsible. It has taught and has showed me the important values of family and friends and how important it is to love and to show love to everyone.

4) What would you tell parents who have at risk youth about Camp Tracey?
I would tell the parents that YES it is a very hard and long decision to make, but it will be the best decision that you will ever make and every penny of money spent will be well worth it. Just pray, believe and read the Bible daily and keep the Lord first in both you and your husband’s everyday lives. Do not be discouraged of the things you hear, but keep focused on what’s right and what you know is right. I hope my story, my words, and my actions touch the families of those who are making the decision to send their kids to Camp Tracey.
